Seasons are everywhere in life: tax season, weather season, fashion season and yes, RUN SEASON.

Like seasons you can’t keep wearing the same Summer clothes in the winter. That aint gonna work.

So you gotta switch things and adapt! Just like the clothes in your closet, I’ll teach you how to adapt your eating to support your diff run seasons on this episode.

Zone two aerobic exercise is the biggest factor for longevity, but diet matters too. Keep bad fats and fast foods off the menu. Stick to whole, homemade and unprocessed foods. Exercise is a better predictor of longevity than diet.

Whole foods are great for most of the year, but when I need that extra boost, I ramp up my carb intake. Right before and after training, I'll have processed carbs like gels, cliff bars, rice milk, and coconut water. And for that extra push, I'll add a powdered sports drink to my rice milk. 

After training, I'll focus on good fats and proteins to help with recovery. Remember, your diet should be constantly shifting to support your body's changing needs.

Vo2max and VO2 (2 different but related things) can be confusing, but just know that if you are doing interval workouts and have an aerobic base (easy running) you most likely are building up your vo2max.

While threshold and tempo runs don't build it as quickly, they also can build up your vo2max. 

Getting out there and doing something over the long term will build it up.

But also not too hard. It's more like z4 heart rate and what I would say 7-8 in perceived effort.
